A recent study has shown that students who read for pleasure have higher scores in school across all subjects, even when compared to children who have high academic scores but don’t read at home. I think reading for pleasure is something that can sometimes be extinguished along a child’s educational career if teachers and parents aren’t careful.
Today we played with some ferro fluid, which is a liquid with metal fragments suspended in it, making it a magnetic liquid. As you can imagine it has some really interesting properties.
We studied cephalopods (meaning ‘head-feet’) today in science, these are the class of animal that includes octopus, squid and nautilus. We drew a few of them, and watched part of a video about the cuttlefish’s amazing ability to camouflage themselves.
